The Clarence Valley is on the move - and Clarence River Way is a key component of what will fuel the region's economic growth. Council, agencies and stakeholders have developed a destination development masterplan to direct resourcing and investment over the next 10 years. An intervention of this scope and scale is rare, represents a new era in destination development within the state and demonstrates a level of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit not seen the Valley previously. The Masterplan is currently on public exhibition.

General issues with the plan
My first issue is with the name. Clarence Valley or River and now we have WAY! It's all a bit confusing. What about Clarence River Valley?
The following points should be considered -
Chapter 6 - all the planning issues and methodology quickly dampened my initial enthusiasm, not to mention the repetition.
B 5.1 - I like the idea of the shade trees along the river in Yamba!
River Access - there are many parcels of Crown Land that front the river. See the Clarence River Foreshore Reserves document. It was prepared by the Grafton Lands office in the late 80's. read more …

Abandon touring routes
The Valley is not suited to the continued development of tourist drives. We need to simplify the plethora of current options to instead focus on the idea of marketing the Clarence as a single touring region.
