Willoughby City Council is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent of 1999 levels by 2010. Council will also strive to assist the community of Willoughby in reducing its carbon footprint.
The Sustainability Charter which was adopted in 2008 states Council ‘will encourage and support greenhouse gas reduction schemes (e.g. the installation of solar and heat pump hot water systems and the uptake of GreenPower)’.
Whilst Willoughby City Council is already proactively working towards achieving its own corporate targets, there is a need to better engage our community to achieve significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
In response Council is developing an exciting new 'climate action campaign' and seeks your comment to develop programs that reflect the needs of the community.
