Broken Hill’s redeveloped aquatic centre opened on Saturday November 29, 2008. Costing $4.5M and incorporating a new 50m pool and a 70m water slide, the facility provides the Silver City with an aquatic complex comparable to those in other major regional centres.
Council would like to thank Council staff, Crystal Pools and local contactors and suppliers who had been involved in the project, which together with the generous community fundraising effort, a NSW Government Sport and Recreation Grant and project sponsorship from Country Energy, Country Water and Consolidated Plant and Quarries have made the new pool development a reality.
The entry fee has been retained at the pre-redevelopment level of $2 per person but Council is considering increasing the fee to offset the operating costs for the facility. Council is seeking your views on the most appropriate fee structure.

What programming at the pool would interest you in using the centre
Gone are the days of opening the gate and people will come.... what programming do you think the pool should have to encourage usage?? This needs to a huge consideration by Council otherwise the pool will be underutilised. Would you like to see regular events like discos, dive in movies, learn to swim all year round, aqua-aerobics, Senior club sessions... lets get council to hear our ideas so they run the pool properly...
