Advertising the buses an idea (& as part of the bus review)?

VOTES
1

CountryLink sometimes advertise, so why not advertise the buses (& as part of the bus review)? Say on the local TV stations, in the news media. I've encounted people that don't know that a bus route is nearby.
How many people here know about a free fare zone in Newcastle CBD for State Transit buses? Do you friends or neighbours know about it?

Service to Sandgate Area

VOTES
9

I would like to see the proposed services 106 and 107 continue to St Joseph's Nurse Home at Sandgate. With the new traffic lights outside St Joseph's there is an ability for buses to turn at St Joseph's. This would enable access to the home for visitors who are often elderly themselves and for staff of the facility. It would also provide better access for those wanting to visit Sandgate Cemetary. more ...

Free Bus Services for All... Funded out of the RTA's roads Budget

VOTES
4

This strategy combined with regular running times, cleanliness, politeness, and promptness would be a boon for public transport and take huge pressure of the road network. The RTA is full of engineers who love to build bigger and bigger roads. We need the Government to take a holistic view of the transport budget - take one year's road budget and apply it to some innovative experiments. more ...

bus cancelation

VOTES
2

Recently, the 350 has been cancelled and I have resorted to walking to school. I have also heard that some busses in Sydney have crashed and state transit has sent many of our busses to take over. Do you have to pick the 350 and 322? Three 350s have filled up before most people from my school get on and we arrive home late. Please stop canceling important busses! more ...

The review needs to reduce "Not in service" runs

VOTES
0

Today, five buses all operating special came one after the other, creating a gap in the CBD of about 15+ minutes or so, even though the majority of bus routes use the street.
A review should be lookiing at reducing dead running like this. Same thing happened on NYE, about four buses running special one after the other, even though the buses were full, with standing passengers. more ...

After the results are in for the bus review

VOTES
0

After the results are in for the bus review, will Newcastle Buses publish another route map with the most useful changes & suggestions?
If/when they do publish the resulting map, all the times, days of running, frequencies must be provided.
The March 2002 changes were (& still are) just a disaster. State transit published a review in October 2001, with people commenting, yet the STA just introduced routes, that had no resemblance to the October 2001 review. more ...
