Council has a commitment to provide enhanced sportsground facilities within the Shire for use by the community.
Locations with suitable land are limited therefore alternate models are proposed that upgrade and utilise existing lands within a shared arrangement.
Council proposes to upgrade and expand the sportsground shared by the John Purchase Public School and Cherrybrook Technology High School and situated adjacent to Greenway Park and Cherrybrook Community Centre. The upgraded sportsfield would be used by the schools during school time and used by the community in the evenings and weekends.
The proposed upgrade will deliver a facility suitable for training and competition use by local Soccer and Cricket clubs. It includes improvements to the playing surface, construction of an amenities block and the provision of night lighting for training purposes.
Council has assessed the impacts of the proposed improvements in relation to traffic, noise, lighting and electromagnetic radiation from existing power lines. Those assessments are included in the 'see all documents' section of the Library on the right hand pane, for you to read and make comment.
Council seeks your feedback as to whether you support the extension and upgrading of the sportsfield and also regarding any other related issue with which you are concerned.
