Q. What is a Strategic Plan?
The Strategic Plan is Council's visionary plan for the future of the City of Penrith going beyond the next ten years. The plan was prepared with input from the community, including the Futures Forum, Councillor Workshop, Penrith City Council Staff Survey and a general Community Survey. The Plan presents strategic directions in five key themes that have been drawn together from the commentary captured by these discussions.
Q. What is a Delivery Program?
The Delivery Program is the second level in the strategic planning framework. It supports the general directions outlined by the Strategic Plan but covers in more detail the actions and activities the Council plans to undertake over a four year period to contribute to the long term strategic directions.
Q. What is an Operational Plan?
The Operational Plan is the third level in the strategic planning framework. It outlines the services and activities that will be undertaken within the defined year to contribute to achieving the goals of the Delivery Program. The Operational Plan also includes details of Councils Fee's and Charges Schedule that will be set for that period.
Q. How were these Plans put together?
The new strategic framework, with the three interdependent tiers of plans, was developed to bring Penrith City Council in line with best practice within local government. The plans have been built around Penrith's Principles for a Sustainable City, which were developed and adopted by Council to guide our thinking and help build a vision of a sustainable City. The preparation of these Plans has been informed by the previous strategic and management plans and the commentary captured during planning sessions with the community, Councillors and staff.
