This Community Strategic Plan 2030 has been prepared to assist Wollondilly Shire to realise its vision of “Rural Living”.
Q. What are the five major theme areas of the plan?
The plan identifies five major theme areas:
Community, Economy, Environment, Infrastructure and Governance.
For each of these areas the plan:
• details community needs and aspirations;
• current and future challenges and choices;
• outlines a scope for strategic action; and
• provides a focus that will enable more detailed plans and activities in the Wollondilly Shire.
Q. What does the plan say in relation to these five themes?
Broadly the plan sets out the goals, outcomes and strategies for the five major theme areas of Community, Economy,Environment,Infrastructure and Governance for the next 20 years.
Q. How does this community plan link to Council's actions?
The community Strategic Plan will help guide and direct The Council Management Plan every four years.
Q. How was the Community Strategic Plan 2030 developed?
There has been extensive engagement of the community, councillors and council staff in community planning and evaluation activities in recent years. This has provided a reliable guide to community opinion on issues that are important to the future of Wollondilly. The development of this Plan drew on feedback from these engagement and consultation processes, along with other documents listed in the Appendix of the document. Council is asking the community did we hear you properly and is this where you want to head as a community.
