The Kia Tutahi-Standing Together steering group is now considering all the feedback received on the draft relationship agreement. The draft set out a vision and principles for how communities and government can work together in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We've held 17 regional hui during July and August, and met in Wellington with national lead community sector organisations and government officials to talk about the draft agreement and listen to what people had to say. Kia Tutahi also invited written submissions and encouraged discussion here at Bang the Table.

The deadline for submissions was 20 August 2010.

Through the consultation process, we sought your thoughts about:

  • How do we ensure that the agreement is put into practice?
  • How should we get the message out?
  • How do we keep things on track?
  • How will we know its working and how will we do it right?

We will take your views into account as we revise the relationship agreement and create a new version. A summary of all the feedback is being compiled and will be made available at www.ocvs.govt.nz soon.  In the meantime, reports from each of the hui are in the online library on this site.

How can we promote the agreement, make sure we do things right and be responsive to the changing needs of communities and government over time? How will we know the agreement is working?

The success of the relationship agreement depends on how it’s put into practice. We want to hear your ideas on how to implement the relationship agreement so we can advise the Government on priorities and next steps. Please tell us what areas for action YOU think are priorities.
