Singleton Council is reviewing services and structure to ensure that it best meets the needs of the community it serves. As part of this, Council resolved to seek community feedback as to whether to hold a referendum on the Councillor structure. The referendum would determine how the Mayor is elected, how many Councillors would represent the community, and whether to retain the existing ward/divisions within the Local Government Area.
Council is seeking feedback from the community to assist in determining how we should move forward. The results and your feedback will be combined into a report back to Council in September 2010, to assist the Council in determining whether to hold a referendum on the issues or not.
We invite our community to HAVE YOUR SAY and provide us with feedback or comments on the 3 matters identified. Please read our FAQs before adding comments and ideas. Answer Yes or No in our Quick Survey to the question Should Singleton Council conduct a Referendum on the Council Structure?
