View towards the school, looking north-west over the Cherrybrook Technology High and John Purchase Public Primary Schools’ playing field. An amenities building is proposed to be set into the existing embankment shown in this image at field’s edge.
-
View towards Greenway Park looking north-east, through the powerline easement. The proposal involves extension of the field approximately 20 metres further to the east, towards the Community Centre at right of picture.
-
The John Purchase Public School carpark (above) and shared Cherrybrook Technology High School carpark (above right) will be used by local sports clubs for training and competition events parking.
-
Shared school carpark; primary parking area for clubs using the sportsground.
-
The shared schools pathway links from Purchase Road via the carparks to the playing field and is proposed to be lit at night until 9pm. School buildings, distance from homes and trees ensure negligible obtrusive lighting impact.
-
Security fencing has replaced the chain mesh fence to the school side of the field since this photograph was taken. The proposal will necessitate further works so that schools will remain secure during out-of-school hours.
-
Bus bays along Purchase Road permit on-street car parking outside of school hours. These bays may supplement parking when school and sports uses overlap. Sports clubs will be required to arrange not to coincide with large school events.
-
The Purchase Road entry / exit egress to the school carparks is suitable to accommodate additional traffic flows resulting from the use of the playing field, without causing unreasonable congestion or delay in traffic movements.
-
Purchase Road. Some parking is also likely to occur in the adjacent Greenway Park however all clubs will be directed to use the school carparks. Refer to the Parking & Traffic Impact Statement for detailed analysis.
-
View over the field to be upgraded. The Cherrybrook Community Centre and Greenway Park are adjacent, evident in this view.
-
Looking north towards adjacent residential area. Some screening is provided by existing vegetation. Additional planting is proposed to supplement this screening value.
-
The cricket nets may be upgraded in this location. Under the proposal, a noise attenuation barrier will be incorporated behind the nets to improve the current scenario in respect of the nearest neighbours on this northern boundary.
-
The southern field boundary provides a native bushland buffer to an adjacent residential area. The pathway link is retained under the proposals, with access to school carparks and through to Purchase Road retained in out-of-school hours.
