Other councils offer a third bin for green waste at a cost. Should Logan City Council go down this path in the future? Or would you prefer to take your green waste to a transfer station or landfill rather than pay for a third bin?

I certainly do NOT want ANOTHER BIN! I don't want the second one. I'll be paying for 2 bins to be emptied each week whereas I simply don't create that much waste & believe it's totally unfair to residents who don't need the bins empties every week. Also my green waste is recycled at home.

I would like to have a green waste bin as I pay a private company to have one emptied once a month now. Hopefully the council will give everyone the option to have one or not. That way if you do not need it you won't have to have it.

Totally agree with you. Can we sublet our bin out to recoup our costs ????

Hmm!!! I don't want a second bin, let alone a third bin. But,
Barry 09, I like your style/idea.

I would much prefer to have three bins and know that I am doing everything to keep my place clean, tidy and respectable rather than live in a community that depends on kerbside pick ups and make the entire neighbourhood look like a something from a third world country

Issues such as "clean, tidy and respectable" are really secondary and superficial in light of _sustainability_. Green waste should be processed naturally where it occurs.

How do you fit large items like old washing machines etc in a wheelie bin ?????

I do not want a third bin or a second bin i do not fill one bin a week as I do my own recycling.

I don't want an extra bin, I have survived so far with one, we manage our garden waste, use to compost & recycle wherever possible. people should learn to curve their attitude. start trying to manage their own waste. providing another opportunity does not educate the masses.

HontusJ , you have taken the words out of my mouth and i totally agree with this theft by sleath by the council. The survey was flawed and didnt mention anything about being slugged more money. Who in council has shares in this rubbish company ????

I dont want another bin that i dont fill. My bin is lucky to be filled in a fortnight, as i brake down rubbish ,recycle and food scraps go in my worm farm or my dog(meat) or in the garden as mulch (onions). The LCC are criminal in the way they worded the survey, NO mention of extra costs???? and had to run it twice to get the results they wanted.Ratepayers should get together and take legal action against this theft and as Cr. Ban is a barrister, she could help ,as she is against this.Nothing in the LCC survey about the second bin ?? just a third one ?? Do we have to wait till LCC election to throw this mob out????

I think three bins is getting a bit out of hand. However, instead of providing a bin for green waste maybe the council could offer subsidised green skip bins for those who need or want to dispose of green waste and can't dispose of that waste in their garden.
However, I think two bins (one for general waste and one for recycling) is totally in order. I have no problem with the space provided for general waste in the current one bin system as I recycle as much as I can and intend to set up a compost bin in my more…
