Consultation

I have read with interest the exec summary relating to the foreshore management plan, the council has a vast list of all the supposed consultative measures it has undertaken, what a load of political bunk!!!! If council thinks that the residents are going to be railed roaded again just as they have done with the last LEP, think again, Council will be held to account for the losses people will potentially suffer as a result of re-zoning and loss of current uses of property, wake up Mr Gessling, get off your behind and start communicating, the flip side is another countless number of compensation claims

It should be noted that only public land, corporate land and reserves have been identified by the consultant for potential rezoning. The plan does not recommend the rezoning of any individually owned private land.

Well in fact thats incorrect, one of the key points of the esturay management plan was to re-zone and limit the use of privatly owned land, indeed one of the stratergies was to resume land

Agreed, There are inconsistencies in the concerns raised by the report and the recommendations. For example, The report raises a concern over the overdevelopment of some foreshores and then proposes to build cycleways, which would contribute further to the overdevelopment issue. Most people come to the beach to walk along the sand, not a pathway.

I appreciate that the consultants can't meet everyone, but unless you belong to local organisations you don't even find out about community meetings. In addition I believe it is incumbent on Consultants to ensure good community consultation in areas where their recommendations will have material impact on landowners. eg Tilligerry Creek. This has not happened.
