It seems that MoT has changed the rules for school bus passes. The old rule was you must live at least 2kms from the school to your house as tthe crow flies. They have changed it to 2kms to any part of your street. So if you live in a long street like Maitland Rd, Glebe Rd or Waners Bay Rd and live 5 or 6 kms from the school you dont get free travel if any part of that street is less than 2kms from the school. Looks like the axe is multi edged!!!

But what ALL governments should do is make it a requirement (with the exception of private schools, or special circumstances) that all school students go to the closest school possible. That's what we had to do.
.
Bigfellow, have you got a link where it says they have changed the distance?

Agree with NFlyer. I know for a fact the rules haven't changed.

The information was published in the Sydney Morning Herald and related to a decision taken by MoT just before Christmas.
Maybe the information has not yet found its way to the MoT web site.
I was not the only one who read the Herald report.
Does anyone know if the 3 for 2 seat rule still applies for primary students?

Okay what date & page of the SMH was it, or is in their website?
The SMH maybe better than News Limited, but don't believe everything you read.

Students haven't been allowed to be 3 to a seat for years.
