In principle the proposed changes to traffic and parking @ WLC are supported however I make the following constructive comments which aim to reduce Council's capital outlay and improve traffic, health, social and climate friendly outcomes :
1. while the proposed range of potential physical design changes to the n'hood streetscape and WLC external areas have merit these will be costly interventions, disruptive during construction (for a very popular regional level community sports facility that never has 'down time') and may result in increased incentive to drive as the current traffic jam 'nuisance' factor maybe improved in the short term only more…

No. We are talking about proposals for 6 months time. They should be focused on reducing traffic congestion, not pacifying local residents who pay no more council rates than most of the saturday users.
maximise parking, optimise car exit routes or provide alternate transport options.(eg a quick, frequent and reliable shuttle bus from a nearby carpark) Walking and bike riding are not realistic given the distances and ages involved and for families multiple venues on a saturday morning preclude not using a car
