The City Strategy makes frequent reference to pedestrians and cyclists and networks and pathways but no reference to PEDESTRIAN SAFETY.
The present mix of the two creates a dangerous environment where the pedestrian has to frequenty dodge and protect themselves from fast cyclists in shared zones.
Since our population is aging and therefore more vulnerable, I believe that the issue of pedestrian safety deserves not only a place in the strategy but also more action from Council to ensure that pedestrians are safe at all times.
