Fees and Charges

by Management Plan Team 6:06pm, 9 May 2008

Aside from money collected via rates, Council must also charge for other services to cover the cost of delivery. Council’s fees and charges are reviewed annually and are based on a number of different pricing approaches including full or partial cost recovery, subsidised and statutory pricing methods. Overall Council’s fees and charges income is proposed to rise by 3.71% in 2008-09. All fees and charges are detailed in Part C of the Draft Management Plan. Do you have any comments on the proposed fees and charges?

See my comments on rates. Can't you work hard to keep these down this year?

Cut some spending, and travel within council. Do more by phone, email and conference calls. There are are a lot of volunteers available, use them to help cut 'add on costs' for extra staffing funding projects.

Big business in the region will also give money for advertising in return. A big missed opportunity - get modern and allow signs!

Use the bins; bus stops (they all should have seats and covers; council owned buildings to put signage out there - it is super for fundraising and look really positive and bring in more economic growth.
