More CAR SPACES and safety for School children pick up and set downs
As a grandparent I have been totally disgusted with the collection of parking fines outside the public schools. Glenmore Park was designed very badly for crowding and lack of thought has gone into safety and ease of parking where needed. The shopping centre parking is far too tight, needs redesigning, people deserve better than the minimium, which has been the case for many years for new developments. Instead of booking people, why not do what is needed and work closely with state government to organise a take over of some of the school grounds to give parents adequate parking and time to attend to their childs needs. Revenue raising by booking people for this is really low and a hinderence rather than effective.

Inconsistency of speed zones outside schools does not help drivers.
Why is there a school zone on the Great Western Highway in Colyton? Yes there is a tiny gate at the back of the school and the rest is surrounded by a high fence but the main entrance is on a side street. For the sake of drivers sanity, most schools keep their entrances away from highways or main roads where it is appropriate to have 40 zones.

School speed zones are not meant to help the drivers they are there to save the lives of the kids. I'm sure its a real bind slowing down but do you thnk you could manage that to protect children. If people cannot drive responsibly near schools how an we ever get kids to walk to school safely?

Try walking your kids to school - it might do you all some good! I cannot believe you would suggest using school grounds for parking! No wonder we have an obesity problem. Kids drive to school, nowhere to exercise at school becasue the playgroud is now a carpark. Might as well get McDonalds operating the canteen!!
