More people, more houses

By 2031 Logan City will need to accommodate an estimated 70,000 new dwellings. Council proposes to balance this demand by increasing the number of dwellings in existing housing areas (infill) and by providing new dwellings in new areas (greenfield). What are your thoughts? What would you like Council to consider?

I am in favour of allowing more subdivisions in Logan. In particular, the R2000 zoning could perhaps be scaled back to R1000 without ruining the livability of our area.

My family currently lives on just over 1 acre in Park Ridge. We do not want to have our land destroyed or our home destroyed for townhouses. It would ruin our whole area and lifestyle. Do I renovate when no one will tell me what will happen to our family home?

Logan city Council and in fact the State Government must consider the impact that the increased population will have on the existing "infrastructure" ie streets / roads which cannot be widened, storm water drains which cannot be enlarged, a rubbish tip which will be full in a relatively short number of years.

Can we in fact accommodate 70,000 dwellings?

Is that just wishful thinking?

The Mayor boasts of our mix of urban and "rural" lifestyles. If we keep infilling - there will be no "rural" Logan to boast about.
