Take opportunity to obtain land adjacent to the River to improve public access to the River (even if some sites are available only to enjoy views of the river rather than launch a boat). These riparian sites can be managed to provide a range of sustainable outcomes for the River, the Valley community and visitors, eg improved habitat, improved visitor experience (word-of-mouth promotion and return visits), healthy lifestyles and recreation (passive and active) opportunity, opportunities for cultural and artistic expression through public art, events, etc, improved public amenity, potential for funding dollars (for projects on these lands) to be brought into Valley economy, increased community interaction with and appreciation of the River and its values, etc.

This concept supported in CVC adopted plans and strategies, such as Clarence River Way Masterplan, Clarence Valley Settlement Strategy and Grafton Open Space Plan.

I personally would prefer less infrastructure on our rivers, less pollution from facilities and less structures in our waterways. What about pure enjoyment of our open spaces, without having to provide for everything for everyone... what about the peace, quiet and solitude you get from crusing the river, looking out onto the banks and the vegetation! I don't want to see pontoons and other structures on every bend!
