Grafton is widely know for it's Jacaranda Trees and the Jacaranda Festival. We all know that thousands of people flock to Grafton and the Clarence Valley each year to view the shock of purple trees and join in the festivities. If we take away our Jacaranda trees are we cutting off our nose to spite our face? Why can't we have both? The Clarence River in the eyes of an Entrepreneur could be a gold mine if marketed in the right way, for example the opportunities for businesses such as floating restaurants, river taxis, float planes/scenic flights, paddle boat tours up and down river... the opportunities are there for the taking. Europe can boast huge river boats, cannal barges and ferries taking tourists on long leisurely cruises. We live by one of the longest and best river system in Australia, we can have our cake and eat it too.
