I feel it would be beneficial to owner/drivers as well as residents if the Council secured some land at several locations and made it secure for drivers to leave their trucks and go home and relax. My son parked his car in a designated street only to find windows broken, graffitee, UHF radio stolen plus a brief case with private paperwork. I am sure that drivers would not mind paying a nominal fee to have a secure area to park and be able to do their maintenance each week. It would even be a benefit for Insurance Companies to help fund this facility.

thats all well and good - but who's land is it going to be? council? they will just sting the truck owners some stupid fee to park there and use their facility.
the whole thing is a joke. so much for logan being a working class suburb. the council are goign to send all the truckies broke with their laws.
Unless a truck directly affects someone everyday - then they should be left alone and those special cases where the truck is affecting someone's life - then that dealt with approproately.
its a person's right use their property and if they are considerate of neighbours -then thats ok. most truckies i know are considerate of their neighbours cos they want to live where they do and they want to drive their truck witout causing trouble etc

Council buying land for truck parking is stupid, when most people who have trucks have parking on their own land. Yes there are some ignorant truck drivers out there, but the majority are hard working, respectful people. What about getting to and from these areas, will their cars cause problems for people coming and going. And have you ever tried to get anything out of an insurance company(that hasn't got strings attached). Drivers have enough outlay without having to pay extra for parking.
