So where do you buy local produce? Can you buy everything locally? What would you really love to be able to get locally?

Farmers & Growers Market at Market Square, Grafton is great for local produce. Also roadside sellers at the Pillar Valley and around the Clarence area.
Some local vege shops also. Other markets are great for this but you need to check it has come from local farmers and not Brisbane markets. You can buy most things locally, apart from fruit/veges that don't grow well in this warm climate, with winter frosts.

I know where I can buy it but convenience is an issue. Driving to a market in Yamba (as example) to buy a kilo of cheap bananas probably isn't a good move for the global future. More opportunity for local growers to get fresh produce to local people is needed. There are issues about how this happens as there are potential impacts on food business traders who operate in the Valley. Maybe these businesses can be encouraged to buy direct from local growers and then promote that local (low kilometre & less CO2 emitting) produce in their stores. I can more…
