The review has identified a number of strategic corridors for fast and frequent services. Are these the right corridors?

Looks ok but the question is how fast and frequent will they be? If we know a bus will come within a few minutes then it might be worth taking the bus to work

Absolutely right. Good routes are a step in the right direction but we need them to offer a 5 mminute service if we are to get them used. This is important. Parking is getting harder and harder in the city, there is an opportunity to get more people using the buses if the service is reliable

The corridors seem OK but people live all over and if the bus numbers haven't increased then services must be reduced in other areas. It is hard to comment on services without seeing how often the buses will actually come.

They seem to connect the right places but it is difficult to know where demand comes from and how people link onto these routes. Also I cant tell if they take in the main rail stations

The corridors arte sensible (except for the Bayview St service), but the real issue will be frequency (probably 30m Mon/Fri and 60m weekends?).

I travel everyday on the bus, need to see time tables and routes should not be taken away. Broadmeadow has lost direct fast routes and we have a rail station no direct fast route to charlestown or kotara and need acces to waratah high from here .I rely on buses to go to work as do not drive and can access any branch Im required to attend from here with current services I can not loose any routes if anything Broadmeadow as a mager central point should have more direct services and better timetables
not loose routes
i feel schools and small shopping centres such as waratah high and waratah shopping centre has not been considered for the locals that require direct services to waratah
do not take the 226 or 349 or 322.Schools and connecting rail service should be considered.

Broadmeadow does seem to lose out pretty badly in this review

Look Snugglepot, their IS A DIRECT route from Broadmeadow to Charlestown, in fact you have two routes from Broadmeadow to Charlestown, 317 & 322. The 317 also goes directly from Broadmeadow to the Kotara area. Can't really understand your post, but if you are trying to say that their is no direct route between stations & Charlestown, their ARE, 320 & 321.
Can't access any branch of what?, a railway station?

bus stops must be convenient to the shopping centre. The bus stop at Waratah Village is in the bottom street out of sight out of mind. The taxis pick up from Coles door.

If strategic corridors means the bus route, then I am surprised that the review map 10 Oct 2007 does not show a bus service using a direct route along Griffiths Road from Wallsend/Jesmond/North Lambton into Hamilton then Newcastle. I drive into Newcastle then park up to 1.5 kms from work (free parking). I would love a bus service that ran directly down Newcastle Rd, Griffiths Rd, Donald St then either Hunter or King St, with bus stops at, say. 1 km appart. For city workers, this could mean cheaper, faster trips to/from work (considering parking fees and available parking locations)plus reduced traffic (read stress) and the freeing up of "valuable parking spaces for the shoppers and tourists". I believe able bodied commuters would not mind walking further to bus stops and having fewer bus stops if they knew the trip was direct and relatively efficient in getting them to work.
Going off on a tangent, I personally feel that dedicated cycle ways throughout the district would alleviate a lot of this city's issues with transport, parking, pollution etc.
cheers

cycleways and buses can be integrated by using buses fitted with cycle racks.

Why is there NO Newcastle - Broadmeadow - Waratah - University corridor???
Appauling, catch a bus and see how much it is used! The bus is the 226 if you don't know!
