I have read so much on this subject & am convinced it is another case of the "greenie do gooders" overreacting to the natural evolution of our weather patterns. The outcome is the growth of a new industry which governments world wide are now harnessing to justify new taxes.
I am a retired engineer & have over the years fully supported the need for a clean environment, however when our government wont protect our health by filtering tunnel air emissions because it is too costly then all of this supposed concern with so called more…

Leo it is certainly true that there is an enourmous amount of government waste and decades of under spending on infrastructure.
Howver you cannot ignore the fact that the Intergovernmental panel made up of over 600 scientists from every disipline from around the world have come to the conclusion that man made climate change is happening and real. The only question is the degree of warming.
Some of the solutions apply whether you believe in climate change or not.For example reducing world population, improving public transport, creating bike lanes, encouraging water wise pratises etc are all good things to do regardless of the where you are coming from.
Whether you like it or not the only way out is a concerted effort by everyone to work out some solutions.

Leo’s anger toward “our government’s” inability to filter tunnels, supply sufficient power and water or provide public transport facilities is well-justified but it is nullified by its irrelevance. This sub-par performance falls under the jurisdiction of state government, not local. My understanding is that this “greenie do gooder” campaign is action by local government – a tier of government also frustrated by a lack of tunnel filtration and proper funding in the realms of public transport and the likes, so his conspiracy of “spin doctors making excuses for their lack of performance” is misdirected.
There is no doubt Council should be spending what little funds it has on its own infrastructure back-log, but putting aside some extra funds for projects that fortify the local environment’s sustainability is common sense – whether or not the fear of a total world environmental destruction is a rational one.
The state government’s interest in environmental issues may not be genuine as Leo suggests, but that does not equate to Council sharing the same modus operandi.
Leo may have found a real crime, but he’s questioning the wrong guy.
