Put it up on the net so more people can access it!

It doesn't jump out at you, i missed it at first. Look on Bangthetable's Old Man Valley top page, right hand side under Library "Councillor Selection Criteria". I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts.

Where are the criteria??

I think the list was good. Finding the right balance between the considerations will be a challenge.
Fitting in one large sportsground will be expensive with the steep grades, and geotechnical issues. Whilst ideally you would provide a full sized rugby or soccer field, if its not cost effective could kids size fields be provided.
I wouldn't prioritise the sportsground over the other considerations as there could potentially be a lot more users of OMV than just the people that use the oval for organised sport on the weekend.

Criteria 1 is too prescriptive. What consultation was done to determine this. There are a lot of people who do not want to see large sports fields in OMV. A large flat sports ground would require 10m high retaining walls. One or two small terraced fields in a parkland setting would be more suitable. I suggest amending the criteria as follows "Contains one or two level areas suitable for a variety of recreational uses including but not limited to organised sport."

Criteria 3 - simply say that OMV is to be maintained as Open Space it is not to be rezoned.

Proposed additional criteria:
* Responds to the urban setting and proximity to bus, rail, town centre and high density residnetial areas all within walking distance.
* Serves as a gate way to Berowra Valley State Recreation Area.
* Integrates with the redevelopment of the aquatic centre.
* Has minimal, roads, carparks, buildings, retaining walls and other structures in order to maintain the integrity of the open space.
*considers the outcomes of community consultation conducted on face book and other social networks.

Combine criteria 4 & 5 - i dont think there is a significant difference between ratepayer and residents?

* Makes provision for a wide variety of uses including events, installations, performances, passive and active recreation.
* Integrates with Hornsby TAFE
* Has a strong visual and physical link to Hornsby Park and the "Old Side" shops.
* Makes provision for active recreation which is not organized by a sporting club ie informal games.
