Point 2 is all about marketing, I'd like to see what the value would be in changing the name of our area, given the expenditure required to do so. I certainly think we could change the names of some of our old activities/centres etc to give the impression of progressive, we're not very inventive are we? The Glasshouse sounds much more inviting than the Manning Entertainment Centre!

Name change has been on the agenda for many years. Personally I feel there are more important issues to be addressed than the name of the Council area?
I would like to see more recognition of the cultural backgrounds of many of our residents.

It is of utmost importance to build Civic Pride and Hope if we are to survive and grow. Civic Pride recreates itself to locals and visitors alike via amenity and sense of 'home'. In fact tourists 'absorb' the atmosphere of a town.
With the inclusion of Hope in the scenario it is disappointing to find that 50% of leased accommodation in Taree is in the form of Caravan Parks. Historically it would appear this has not been a major problem because the average socio economic divide has not been great.
However it is seen as an integral part of Civic Pride (and growth of Civic Pride) that Council should be responsible for, at least, encouraging a greater supply of affordable housing in Taree.
YES. Change the Name to Manning Valley. No if's or but's. New name gives an opportunity to be as Iconic as Hunter [Greater Newcastle !!] or Barossa [Greater Tanunda !!] Valley.
Yes to Item 4.
