cycling. More bike paths would be good.

i know dogs aren't allowed off leash through flat rock gully and so i don't go there every week with my dog as i used to. he always stayed on the track and loved to swim in the creek and i am sad that we can no longer enjoy this activity together. maybe there could be a time for dogs to do this. running at the oval in off leash times is fine, but swimming is an activity my dog loves. i do find willoughby council area is much less dog friendly than some other councils, so i have to get in my car and drive somewhere with my dog

I have been walking through flat rock gully twice a week for the last 18 months. I see dogs every time, and have yet to see one on a leash. Where are the rangers? By-laws are being constantly and widely flouted and are a joke. Council should have the courage to stop pretending - either enforce them or repeal them.

Bushwalking opportunities. More needs to be done about facilitating and grooming pleasant and convenient pedestrian connections from one bush/waterfront/parkland/walking trail area to another, including into neighbouring Council areas and the wider region. For example Naremburn Park, Flat Rock Reserve,Tunks Park and the Sailors Bay Rd sporting complex are strategically located close to the best walking connection between existing major walking trails around Middle Harbour and those around the Main Harbour, but connection from one to the other is often very poor.

Bushwalking, picnics and playgrounds are my family's priorities for recreational activities.

We like to walk in Bicentennial Reserve and along the shared pathways. I prefer that dogs are on a leash when around walkers on paths. Many bike riders are going too fast and this is a problem for parents with small kids and also the elderly. Bike riders should ring their bells to let you know they are coming. We also like picnics and using the BBQs. Council needs to keep some of the playing areas free of organised sports so that it is possible to kick a ball around, or put a few balls through a basketfall hoop. In the old days kids could play cricket, etc, in their street, but now you have to take kids to the park which is OK if the parks are not overcrowded with sports teams. The parking around Bicentennial Reserve is atrocious on weekends. We can easily walk to the Reserve, but many locals have their streets parked out. It is hazardous drive out to go to Northbridge Plaza and come back to find that you cannot park in your street.
