What is stopping you?

In the process of identifying ways to get the Clarence moving a big question must be asked. We live in heaven, what is stopping us from getting out and taking healthy options? Is it: cost, facilities, location or options? Bang the table... let us know.

Ic_relatesdoc Relates to survey: Which of the following activities would be most likely to get you moving?

CVC could employ fitness guides/leaders and advertise guided walks, fittness trails/programes to suit various abilities, times and locations to give people more options in a directed way.

I believe that it is the individual's responsibility. Why should Council have to provide this sort of information. It costs a lot of money to do this and basically people need to get off their own backsides and take responsibility for their own health. Do we have to spoon feed everyone?

An excellent idea. This is something that the National Parks and Wildlife service are already doing via their discovery tours (you can find out more about this through the local papers). The Council is looking into ways to make these tours more accessable and more visable.

On a slightly different front there is the hope that the wonderful work of Greening Australia and Green Corps may lead to some more quality fitness trails being created in the area.

Thanks again for your ideas!

I'm offering free cycle skills training through the Community College and through courses funded by the Department of Environment and Climate Change. The Clarence is a great place to cycle and cycling not only gets you active, it also provides some cheap and environmentally friendly transport.
