There needs to be far greater use of public transport in Willoughby City to avoid congestion and future gridlock and residents in the peninsula suburbs to the east have limited transport links with the Chatswood CBD. At the same time, the reality is that existing links - namely STA bus routes 267 and 275 - are poorly patronised.
A free bus service sounds attractive, but imposes a cost on the community. It may be part of an integrated strategy to free up movement in the city, but it needs to be part of a sustainable package. That includes higher costs on more…

The reason the 267 is poorly patronised is because it's an absolutely unreliable service. If you miss a bus, the wait is half an hour but if it's the middle of the day it is an hourly service. This service never runs to the timetable, and if you were trying to get to work on time you couldn't possibly rely on this service and ensure you were on time to work. Many years ago it used to extend it's service to RNSH and for some reason it stopped. This made it impossible for anyone to get there easily from Northbridge without a car.

Castlecrag is very poorly serviced by public transport. A reliable service to and from Chatswood, even on one or two days a week, would be a boon. Also a loop service to take Castlecraggers to the STA's Northbridge express bus service and the Northbridge shops would be invaluable.

I agree that the 267 is totally unreliable and never runs to time. I would gladly catch it to and from Chatswood, but only do so if it happens to come while I am waiting for the 273.
