This consultation has concluded. You can still browse the site but the discussion area will no longer accept new comments or votes.

The draft Shirewide Local Environmental Plan is an integral component of the Council’s Planning Policies for the development of the Shire over the coming decades. The Draft Plan does a number of things including placing land use zones over every single parcel of land within the Shire, determines where you can and cannot build certain structures or undertake certain uses and protects important heritage buildings and locations across the Shire. Submissions can be made through this site, by writing to Council, or by emailing Council directly at wscmail@wsc.nsw.gov.au. Telephone enquiries can be made on 4868 0761 Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm and should be directed to Council's Strategic Planning staff.

Undersized Allotments

VOTES

WARNING WARNING In clause 54 in the proposed Draft LEP2007 land that is in zones RU1,RU2, and E3 must be 40ha (100 acres) minimun in size or you will not be able to erect a dewelling on it even though it was allowed under the current WLEP 1998. As a result any small acreages under 100 acres that you thought you might be able to sell off at a later date will just be grazing land sales. All land holders should immediatly seek qualified advice on this subject.

Affordable Housing

VOTES
6

I see no strategy for affordable housing. It is vital that Council work to consider this issue as prices are being artificaly raised by demand for housing from Sydney siders who use them as weekenders. This places real strains on the resident community. An affordable housing strategy needs to go well beyond looking at supply and needs to manage the typology and ownership of new housing stock.

Today (Mon 25 Feb) I rang a "Roz Piper on 48680713" who is the Council's Administration Officer.
She certainly did not like discussing things with a mere mortal such as myself, let alone being advised more ...

the sale of much used and loved parks

VOTES
0

the people who most use and love the said parks, often live next to them, and were not surveyed the maintenance of such 34 of parks could come from council lost rates not achieved by policies to keep 2000 square meter size blocks in town area (just one of many policy effects) of the council plans... the council could explain many unpopular policies are really to do with state government the council must keep us better informed, my neighbor, and others did not know of park meetings
